Friendship heights

Hi we are new to the area and looking for childcare options for our newborn and 3.5 year old. If we find a good preschool for our 3.5 year old close by we would consider a nanny for new born and times he's not in school. Otherwise looking for full time programs for both

Not sure about the baby, but lots of preschool options nearby for the older kid - CCBC, CCPC, St Paul's, St Columba's, and Communikids, to name a few. Also a daycare called Friendship Children's Center.

Washington Hebrew, too.

I'm not sure if this is close enough to Friendship Heights, but if you want a full-time daycare for both (which mimics preschool for 3.5 year olds), try BCDC near Van Ness metro. I know that they have openings for 3.5 year olds, and then your infant would get to the top of the waitlist for infants. There is great outdoor space and easy drop off by car or metro.

BCDC is wonderful. They may still have a spot available--vacancies due to recent graduates. Highly recommended.

Has Friendship Children's Center turned itself around after the lost child incident?

St. Paul's has openings for 3.5 year olds. It is M-F 9-12. Great school with very loving teachers. It's been around 30+ years. http://www.stpaulsnurseryschool-dc.org

And in the opposite direction, Wonders Edgemoor in Bethesda (next to Bethesda metro). A pain if you are commuting into the District but a good possibility if you are not. Full-time, play-based day care for infants up through pre-k. Our almost 3 year old has been very happy there.

Anyone know anything about Wcc?

Our oldest went to WCC starting in the Teddy Bears class and it was great. Very attentive, a good student community, and excellent communication. We only left because we moved.

Great. What campus is that at?

How are the other sites? Is it a part of Westbrook? My kids will end up at Janney most likely

CommuniKids in Tenleytown may have space. It's Spanish immersion.

If your kids are going to go to Janney definitely look into St. Columba's. It's chock full of future Jaguars.
