I am knocked up and need a vacation!

| We are looking for somewhere to go in August, when I will 30 weeks along with twins. I know I will need a vacation, but I don't want to go too far from here. Please share with me any ideas you have for a trip within a three hour drive! |

Oh god no. I am pregnant, swollen and hot as hell. I want to get as far away from crowds and humidity as possible. How about heading up into the mountains, like Hot Spring, Va? Try looking at this place: http://www.thehomestead.com/. It looks wonderful. |

| Bedford Springs Resort in PA is about 2 hours away and is beautiful. Has a fantastic spa, good food and lots of beautiful spaces just to hang out in. Deep Creek is also about 3 hours away and would be cooler than the beach. |

| I'm not a fan of traveling far at 30 weeks with twins, so I'd suggest somewhere local like Baltimore or Annapolis or Leesburg. If Balt or Annap, stay at one of the hotels right on the harbor with a balcony, have some good eats and really just chill. A little farther I'd suggest St. Michael's or that Hyatt in Cambridge. This way you are close enough if something happens to get home and to your local doctor or be transported by ambulance. |

A couple family members of ours have houses down there. It's quiet and rural, but there are people (my family) who like to get rowdy on their boats. Nothing too crazy, just having fun. |

Seriously??? I am normally a hot weather loving Mama. I liked Charleston in August with the humidity. I liked Phoenix AZ in summer. But those really hot days we had a few weeks ago, I almost passed out twice! Seriously, had to stop what I was doing and put my head by my knees (SOOO easy with a belly.) I totally, completely and unequivocally envy you. This is going to be the longest summer of my life. |
