alternative for hair mousse?

Anonymous
i have medium-length curly hair -- not particularly thick, frizzy if not using hair products at all

i like the way hair mousse for curly hair makes my hair look (i've tried various brands and most work well) -- defined curls, not greasy, not crunchy
(also, mousse washes out easily with water + conditioner -- i co-wash my hair every day and only use shampoo ever couple of weeks

however, i can't help thinking that the metal aerosol cans are probably much worse for the environment than plain plastic containers (am i wrong?)

but whenever i try hair cream, hair lotions, etc. (have tried at least 7-8 different brands), they just make my hair weighted down and "blah," the curls aren't as nice

have you come across something that works like hair mousse but is in a more environmentally-friendly container?

Keep trying the creams and lotions. I like Not Your Mother's Kinky Moves curl defining cream or the leave in conditioner. Have used Garnier Fructis and John Frieda stuff in squeeze tubes before too.

Ken Paves makes a mousse that comes in a plastic pump dispenser.

I'm a 2c, cowash daily, no 'cones or sulfates. Try Giovanni Sunset Styling Lotion. It's a lightweight product with the consistency of water. It works like something between gel & mousse.
