| anyone been told what the success rates are of a blast that is not yet a blast on day 5 but made it on day 6 and was frozen on day 6? |
| I was told that if it was PGS tested then the rates were the same as a day 5 embryo. For what it is worth, none of the embryos i had made it to blast by day 5, all were frozen to be PGS tested, we had one embryo that was normal, and we did have success. |
| thanks - but PP when it was frozen to be tested, it wasn't a blast yet, meaning it didnt reach blastocyst stage till day 6? |
| my 2.5 year old is a day 6 blast and im 24 weeks pregnant with another day 6 blast. ive only had 1 day 5 blast in 5 cycles. |

| Pp, is your little one a girl or a boy? Did you find out whether baby is girl or boy? |
| Another poster here... my day 6 blast was PGS tested and then frozen. She's 10 months old today. |
| Thanks OP here. For all of these you mean they didn't make it to blast until day 6? I know some clinics do day 6 transfers but mine was one that wasn't a blast on transfer day and they subsequently told me oh yeah it made it To blast on day 6 and got frozen |
| Both boys. |
so did you transfer a blast or not? |
|
blast on day 5 or 6 doesn't matter. as long as it's a blast.
i tranfered a day 6 blast. now 22 weeks pregnant. |
| I'm a PP (the one with only one PGS normal). Yes, the embryo was not a blast on day 5, but he was on day 6 so he was frozen. Now he's 6 weeks old. |
| There are studies that say day 6 blasts less successful bc the slower growth can indicate Lower chance of successv |
|
The success rates for day 5 and 6 blasts are almost identical in FETs where you have a Ccs normal
However the rates of success are less for day 6s in fresh |

I am 14 weeks with a day 6 blast. Had two 'crappy looking' day 6 blasts (that was all that made it out of 10 retrieved eggs). I had to insist on a fresh transfer, because i didn't want to pay for a FET if they were being described as having such low chance of success. Have done my NIPT blood tests and NT scan and everything came back with low odds of genetic issues. It is a girl. We were going to do PGS, but skipped it to just do the transfer.
We were surprised since our first ivf transfer of PGS tested normal, and beautiful looking day 5 blast, had failed. Fwiw, the day 6 has been right down the bell curve on every blood test measurement and growth measurement. So apparently only lagged at the very beginning. |
