Didn’t mean to sound creepy. This is actually my first (and likely last post here). I have a 7th grade dd who is starting to talk to coaches as she looks at which schools to apply to either this year for 8th or next for 9th. All of the coaches make their programs sound fantastic, and yes we can see their records, but it would also be nice to see which club teams have girls from which high schools, if the capital girls are mainly from a few schools, etc. This would also be helpful if she considers trying out for a different club there summer. Our older children are boys, so this whole world of high school girls lacrosse is new to us. For the sport my boys play, you can easily see the rosters of the top club teams, and that helped them chose which high schools to apply to. |

How did your daughter’s Pride Black team do? |
So you just want to know which private high school lacrosse programs are actually fantastic? Catholic, or no? |
One source for you is https://www.laxnumbers.com/. While you can't sort by club, you can by high school, and the recruits page has both club and high school fields listed. Accordingly, you can see how it broke down in 2024-2026 for Capital and other local clubs. You will note that most of the Capital Blue team players in recent years (including the 2028s) have been at privates, with a smaller group at Fairfax and Montgomery County publics. Basically you are looking at the top of the ISL and WCAC. For the ISL, this means SSASS, Potomac, Stone Ridge, Visi. For the WCAC: SJC, Good Counsel, Bishop Ireton, and PVI have often had several players from Capital Blue in each class. There really is no one dominant school, and the distribution varies based on class years. For example, Potomac and Stone Ridge have a number of 2025s, SSSAS has a big 2026 class, there are 5 combined Cap Blue and Orange at SJC for the 2028s, etc. In our experience, the girls and their families chose schools that were good fits for them, and lacrosse was only one factor. |
Another source is https://public.clublacrosse.org/commitments. It only has 2025 and 2026, but you can filter by club. |
This aged well… |
Probably because their daughter tried out and didn't make it- so they are understandably salty. At least that is my first impression. That, and they are still bitter about the election... |
Point taken. I certainly thought capital would win more than one game out of 6. Seeing the 27s finish winless as well was surprising. |
It’s not just that they didn’t win, the games weren’t really that close across the board against the top clubs. Clearly a tier or two down, which is a blinking caution light for this team. |
Agree the results were surprising for the 27s. Not really surprising for the 28s. First games; and all against top 8 teams (other than M&D Red). (Will ignore the troll responses as I recommend others should.) |
Other results for top clubs in the first two tourneys:
Hero's: 5-0-1 Eagle Stix: 4-1-1 M&D Black: 4-1-1 Coppermine: 4-2 Did anyone see they play? Any comments from Cap parents who played three of the teams? |
I second the final point about lacrosse being one of many factors. Find the right fit for your daughter and consider thinking of lacrosse as being a tiebreaker, or the icing on the cake. |
Yeah, after getting sh#t on constantly over the last several months I’m sure they’d be happy to help the forum out with some intel. |
Hero’s had the easiest schedule of the top teams and avoided Eaglestix. They didn’t play M&D or Crush either. They will still be favored against everyone, but they haven’t really been battle tested yet. |
