Khan vs Pat Smith

I am voting for Hillary and am completely against Trump and everything he stands for. That being said, is there a difference in the way the media treated Pat Smith vs the Khans? Both lost sons in service.

Sure they did. But Hillary Clinton didn't go after Pat Smith after the convention, cast aspersions on her, question her motives, etc.

If Clinton had, then the media would have been all over it as well.

By the way, don't forget that after Pat Smith spoke at RNC (which Trump pre-empted by going Fox News at the same time to complain about something) then Melania gave her plagiarized speech. So that took all the media attention.

Ms. Smith was a heartbreaking figure and I am sorry for her loss. I don't agree with her accusations but I wish her peace.

This has been discussed extensively in the Khan thread so I am going to lock this thread. However, to save you the trouble of reading that thread, I give you the two arguments:

1) Yes, the media ignored Smith and prompted Khan because of anti-Trump bias;

2) No, the Clinton campaign did not react to Smith and, therefore, there was no story for the media to cover. Khan would have been ignored had Trump not turned this into a story.
