Hello:
I am interestd in City Collegiate Public Charter for my rising 7th grader. Unfortunately, the website does not provide much info and it appears to be the same website for several years now. Is this school struggling. I have not heard much. Where are most of the kids coming from. I mean which public elementary schools. Also, can anyone provide honest feedback on the following: Academics Culture Administration Resources and facilities arts and foreign language programs |
I don't know how it's doing now, but I know a lot of people left. |
Is it still at Jelleff? |
No longer at Jellef, but I forget where the new location is. They had some issues in years past, but got a new principal last year. Give them a call and talk to them. |
New location is 20th and S Streets, just north of Dupont Circle.
CCPCS has had some principal turnover -- one left due to board/founding principal disagreements (common in start-up organizations). They had another principal who came from Sidwell, if I remember correctly, but left for personal reasons unrelated to school success or failure, I believe. (Someone from Sidwell is on the board still.) They have a very competent board. You can see more about the school at the website -- citycollegiatepcs.org. BTW, I am unafiliated -- have no child or friends involved there, but have followed the school as a potential middle school possibility for a little bit when we had our child in DCPS. |
