ideas for flyinh - checking a 2-part high back booster?

Anonymous
We are flying tomorrow and need to bring my 6yo's high back booster (Graco Affix). It falls into 2 pieces (back and seat) really easily. We are going to check it at the baggage check because we are military and get free back checks. Any ideas for keeping it together if we check it? Or should we just take the seat like my husband wants to? My son is within the weight/height requirements but at home we always use the back part as well.

Can you get a carrying bag? They make them for car seats.

Put it in a car seat bag.

So it basically converts to a backless booster? Unless you'll be doing a long drive at the destination, I'd take it in the backless format. The only time we use the booster with the back is if we are on a trip where my kid might fall asleep.

Does he sit properly all the time? Does he usually stay awake? Is he 40 lbs? If yes to all I would use backless. Otherwise get a car seat bag.

The airline usually puts the seat into a big clear plastic bag for me.

Strong duffle bag with clothing around it.

Clear Garbage bag or just take the bottom.

I fastened out with zip ties. They also bagged it for me.

Everybody gets free checked strollers and car seats. It's mandated.
