Watched "The Sting" last night

Then spent 20 minutes scrolling through Paul Newman pictures on Google Image. Sigh. To have been Joanne Woodward!

Robert Redford's not bad either, especially when he rolls over, spits out the capsule and grins.

Is it on Netflix streaming?

(I know, look it up, but since you watched...)

Yup, it's on Netflix. 31 yo here who grew up with my dad renting this repeatedly from Blockbuster. so i was familiar with the scenes (a train, old timey costumes and lots of running down dark streets). But i never really got the plot and jokes until last night. I got tired of surfing for movies and I just hit select in a "what the hell" decision. This morning I was excitedly explaining the plot to my husband.

I have such good memories of watching The Sting with my parents and grandparents. I should rewatch it.

One of my favorite movies. Perfect casting, soundtrack and costume design. You need to have yourself a Paul Newman movie festival. He made a lot of really great movies.

Check out Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Both Newman and Redford are in that too. Great chemistry!

Yes, I've been a Redford girl since I saw Butch Cassidy as a child. That smile!

And kind of like you, OP, I think the other one is not bad either. . I actually met Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward once in the late 80s. Those mesmerizing eyes of his!

His last project was the HBO miniseries "Empire Falls", based on the Richard Russo book. I'd highly recommend it.

Best movie ever, and with a Sixth-Sense-worthy twist!!

Such a great movie. They don't make them like that any more.

Also love this movie. If you want to see Paul looking even hotter, try Cool Hand Luke and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
Rroowr!

Paul is drop f'ing dead gorgeous. How come we don't get actors like him anymore? I'm sorry. George Clooney cannot even hold a candle in the looks department next to Paul Newman.

Me too!

There was a storefront in Fairfax City near my family's business that looked like the curtained windows of the actual sting, and I have always thought of the movie when I see them! (Well, I haven't seen the store in years.)

I think he was the most beautiful actor ever. He looked so handsome well into his old age. Those eyes.

Robert Redford was handsome as a young man but he hasn't aged nearly as well as Paul did.

We watched that movie last month ago, too. Fun!
