Recommendations for places to stay at Delaware beaches

| We've never been to the Delaware beaches and are thinking of visiting this summer. We'll be traveling with two small children. I'm fairly certain that we do not want to stay in Ocean City; I'm thinking Rehoboth or Bethany beaches, but I'm open to suggestions. I also think that I'd like to stay on the water (I want to avoid lugging gear a couple blocks to and from the hotel). Can anyone offer any recommendations for where to stay? Thanks so much! |

There have been threads on this before....
I would go to Resortquest.com and look to Bethany Beach, DE. You want a Sea Colony oceanfront condo in any of their high rise buildings. A week minimum stay is required. A 2 BR or 2 BR/Den would suit you fine I imagine. I usually look for a minimum gold rated unit (they rate the interior furnishings and renovations). Besides that look at the photos of the view and check to make sure the bed layout works for your family. You will have a great time. |

| OP here. Thanks for the recommendation. I should probably have made clear that we are thinking of staying one night, maybe two max (up on Friday, back on Sunday). Most of the previous threads I've found pertain to rentals, which aren't really an option for us. |

So you need a hotel instead? There aren't many beach front hotels in Bethany I don't think. I know of one: http://www.beach-net.com/bethanyarms.html |

Try the "Ric-mar" motel in Fenwick Island. Across the street from the beach, has an outdoor pool, and Fenwick is a nice, quiet area. 3 mini-golfs in walking distance, mini boardwalk with water slides across the highway...
