Timing for Disneyland

Anonymous
We have an almost 4 year old and would like to take her to Disneyland this fall. We live in the Bay Area now, so Disneyland makes more sense than Disneyworld. However, I'm going to be 5 months pregnant around the time I'm thinking. Having not been to Disney in 25 years, I have no concept how annoying it is in general and particularly for a pregnant woman. Is going pregnant a bad idea? What about with an infant? We could go when next child is a few months old, though that seems to add its own complications. Thanks!

Hey, neighbor! I took DD from SF too. We went in November, so it wasn't hot or crowded. I think at 5 months you'll be over the worst of morning sickness. Maybe you can do mornings, and lunch there, then both take a nap/quiet time in the afternoon before going back out to Downtown Disney in the late afternoon/evening.

If you want to nap and she doesn't, your partner can take her to the pool or arcade room (you can wander in and out of all the Disney hotels) or something.

I wouldn't go with an infant.

As long as you can go at an off time and when it's not hot, it won't be too bad. However, you'll be paying the high cost to go in and not be able to ride any rides. As long as you're ok with that, I agree that I'd go now and not with a baby.

Do you have a spouse/partner to take the your child on the rides?

A pregnant woman can ride many of the rides ! Beck even an infant can.

Thanks all! My husband would be with us, and could go on rides, but my daughter is only into very mellow rides so I doubt that would be a problem. Because we live in CA now all her 4 year old friends have gone and she keeps telling me "I'd be amazed by all the princesses". I was doing some research and it looks like I could do most rides.

What research were you doing? Pregnant women can't ride amusement rides, period. I can guarantee you Disney doesn't say otherwise.

I'm a Bay Area resident too! You'll be fine. You can rent a stroller there and push her around. There are plenty of mellow rides for her you can enjoy too. Fall will be a great time to go! I've been in Novemeber and it was perfect.

Huh? Why would she rent a stroller for a four year old? OP didn't say anything about her daughter being disabled. Why wouldn't a normal four year old want to walk/run around in Disneyland?

I know some great bars you can go to as well, OP.

This PP has no idea what she's talking about. I went while pregnant and the only ones I couldn't go on we're the roller-coaster type rides that it sounds like your DD wouldn't care for anyway. There was plenty to enjoy and ride. We went just before Halloween and it was a little warm but not bad. The shoes I thought would be great for walking turned out not to be, so I bought a pair of crocs flip flops and they saved me.

I actually know a safety person for Disney parks (we went to engineering school together). When I got pregnant, she told me to stay off all amusement rides. So yes, I do know what I am talking about.

But I'm sure PPs are just as knowledgeable about this topic.

Op here. I'm comparing the list of rides / activities here
https://disneyland.disney.go.com/attractions/#/id=big-thunder-mountain-railroad
To the expectant mothers advisory

Because my DD will want to go in Cinderella's castle, ride Dumbo, ride carousels, do "it's a small world", go to the Frozen show etc I'm less concerned about doing rides with her (i.e. We weren't doing roller coasters anyway) than long lines / Wait times and just general exhaustion. I'm under the impression that the mild rides are okay. We'd probably go in mid-to-late October.
