We just moved back in after a major Reno/addition.
I have noticed that some of the recessed lights stay faintly glowing at night after we turn them off. Most of the lights don't do this but a few definitely give off a pale light even when turned off. It is faint so not something that you would notice in the day time. Anyone know what is causing this and should I ask the builder to fix it? |
| I don't know what is causing it, but definitely call and have them they send the electrical contractor back out. |
| You've likely got some bleed. Probably a bad switch or damage to the lines through arcing. They should come back out. Absolutely. |
| Do you have a dimmer |
| Yes, there is a dimmer |
| We have that with some of the LED lights. Some pull a drop of currant. Call the electrician but it can be normal. |
We have that with some LED lights on a dimmer switch. There's a cutout tab that I can pull to completely shut electricity, so it must be something with the switch. Maybe a more expensive / better dimmer would do it, but I haven't bothered and it hasn't been a problem for the 2-3 years that we've been living here. |
| No, you probably have dimmers, and they aren't turned off all the way. |
| We had this problem w/ dimmers and led bulbs, you need a new dimmer, not expensive (30 bux) and tell the contractor to do it |
