| I think I have Runner's Knees and I'm convinced part of the problem is the shoes I use for power walking. I've been power walking consistently for the past month, which is something I've never done before. |

Go to a running shoe store and ask them to do an evaluation of your gait and recommend a good shoe for you. It is well worth it.

| Asics. |
| I can't remember the exact name, but I love my Asics that were in the $100 range. |
Running shoe store like Footlocker? |
| saucony |
No - like Pacers. |
Ok thanks, i'll go check it out. What's the typical cost for consultation plus the shoe? I'm not familiar with running shoe stores. Didn't even know they existed. |
| Ditto. Get fitted properly. |
| I love Brooks. I've worn a few different models and they are just the right blend of firmness but with a spring to them. Get fitted for the right model, but they would be my recommendation! |
Pacers, Fleet Feet or Road Runner Sports. The consultation will be free, but you should buy a pair of shoes from them afterward. After that, you can feel free to find them cheaper online.
|
| I am flat footed like a duck and run only in Brooks for years. Love them.. |

I like Potomac River Running a lot. Fleet Feet is also good. Georgetown Running is also great (ask for Chris).
Don't go to a place like Foot Locker, Dicks, etc. They are just going to point to shoes and not know a lot about them. Consultations are free. Shoes are MSRP, so it's courteous to buy from them. I'm not a fan of Road Runner Sports. They are VERY pushy on upselling their "custom" orthotic insoles. I was warned ahead of time before I went (we had their VIP membership at the time) and it was still horrible saying "No, I don't want this" at least 5 times during the fitting. |
| Potomac River Running. They were so helpful. |
