Why would Trump give Cruz the opportunity to do this in the first place? It was completely his decision to give him a primetime slot. Is Trump that clueless?

He had to. It was either that or a floor revolt, and that would have looked worse.

Cruz just took the car and crashed it. The way Trump handled it was amazing ....He really took control. The never Trump crowd and Cruz showed their true colors and are done. It worked out well for Trump....the Republican Party establishment types, not so well.

I agree. Someone was going to end up looking like a dolt and it was Cruz. Trump handled that perfectly.
