Exactly. If Pence is his pick, just hold the press conference. You can make reference to what happened in Nice and use that opportunity to say that you and Pence together will combat terrorism (however the fuck they plan on doing that!). He just doesn't want Nice drowning him out, which is stupid. |

Uhh that's one way of looking at it, I guess. Another is having respect for the grief we all feel, especially those in France and most directly affected, as we helplessly watch this horror.
Or we could be more realistic and understand that his announcement won't get optimal coverage when there's a crisis dominating the news. You're a special American, OP. |

Did you read the article? It would be perfectly respectful to have a sober announcement and subsequent press conference this morning even with everything that's going on. What would be disrespectful is having a full on media circus like Trump surely wants. |

Even before the attack in France, Trump was wafflling in the media, announcing he hadn't decided even when his campaign and insiders were saying it was Pence. He looked like a fool, and make Pence look like a fool. |

Not to side track the thread, but I'm a liberal who didn't like Bush as a president. As a person, however, I think he really does have a good heart and the swaying thing was just him trying to show warmth in a really tragic situation. I think he really does hope both sides can come together in a respectful, empathetic way. |
