What are your go-to dinners when you have house guests?

My cousin and her family are staying with us next week. They have two children, 9 and 12 years old. I have breakfast and lunches figured out but I'm worried about dinner. I'd like to prep as much as possible so I can throw it together when we get home from a tiring day of sightseeing. I'll probably make a bolognese sauce ahead of time so that should be easy enough. I like grilled food but don't want to do this when I'm tired. Ideas, anyone?

Grill BBQ chicken with a spice rub (so no marinades, no real prep beyond mixing spices together).
Boil corn
Buy lettuce from farmers market.

Depends on my guests. Most of them are health-conscious and want lots of greens and low-fat with no desserts.

My go-to meals are more like spaghetti bolognese or mac and cheese.

Pulled pork in the crockpot for sandwiches? With store-bought coleslaw and baked beans, or a salad, or corn on the cob. Also, pizza delivery.

Quesadillas, taco night, pasta (covered), lasagne (frozen ahead of time), stir fry.

Also, a taco bar. You can prep everything ahead of time and just heat up the meat when you get home.

Things people can put together the way they like them: tacos, fajitas, sandwiches and salads. You can prep some stuff ahead of time or buy pre-cooked or pre-chopped elements if you wish.

A light corn chowder with bread and salad, or some other type of soup/stew.

And of course pizza - delivery, pickup, or assemble and bake at home.

I like corn chower just fine, but I don't want to be forced to eat soup and salad for dinner. I need to be in the mood for that.

We usually grill (lately, it's sirloin burgers and hotdogs/bratwurst), and serve with a grain salad or cabbage slaw. We usually also order from our favorite thai place, which has phenomenal food.

Tacos one night are always a hit with guests, especially kids.
I often make chicken pot pies -- individual ones. I make ahead and freeze them so they are easy and everyone loves them.
I also always grill one night. Hamburgers and hot dogs are easy enough. Some corn on the cob, pick up some coleslaw or potato salad at the store and you have a good meal. Ice cream sundaes for dessert.
