4th of July in Arlington/Falls Church/Mclean?

My mom is coming to town to help me with my newborn who will be all of 10 days old when the 4th hits. Can anyone recommend anything going on in the 'burbs that we could take her to so the 4th isn't a total wash?

OP -Your new baby will be at home, not out with the loud fireworks, right?
Congrats.
Your mom might want to be home to...

Totally agree with PP. DS was born right before the Pope came to Washington. DH's family are devout Catholics and thanks to some connections we were able to get 2 tickets for MIL and FIL to attend. They told us while they appreciated the gesture, seeing their 10th grandchild was a more holy experience than seeing the Pope.

Puts this whole new life thing in perspective.

And who knows, it could rain... Watch it on TV - the best seats to see any fireworks complete with the NSO performing with it. I guarantee she'll appreciate that SO much more.

Congrats and good luck on your new baby!

OP here - thanks everyone! I'm in the psycho over analyzing/planning mode and your posts made me take a deep breath. Decided now that since she lives with a vegetarian and she is most definitely a meat lover that we'll do some sort of meat extravaganza on the grill and watch a chick flick since she leaves the next day (sigh).
