It's summer, and sometimes that causes things to stink when they ordinarily wouldn't. Are there any room deodorizers (plug in, tabletop, any) that smell nice, work well, but aren't overly fake and chemical-y smelling?

Bowl of vinegar can eradicate weird smells. |
Will apple cider vinegar work? |
+1 Febreeze is gross and can cause health problems. Bowl of vinegar (you can boil it first) -- leave it out for an hour or two and then rinse it down the drain. Completely non-toxic and doesn't leave that tell-tale Febreeze stench that so many middle-class houses have. |
Yes, any sort will. The stronger, the better. White is probably the best and cheapest for cleaning and deodorizing, though. |
Can you link to a reputable website that says febreze is gross and can cause health problems? Also, it comes in an unscented version. So your home need not stink like washed masses of the middle class. ![]() Febreze really only works on fabric, not the air. Boil clove water or lemon peels, set out sliced cucumbers, or get a de-humidifier if it's a windowless room. |
Get an essential oil diffuser (electric) and some good smelling oils (I like lemongrass/citrus or peppermint oils to freshen) |
williams sonoma. pricey but worth every penny. |
+1 I have always used vinegar after painting a room. It does help. I have only ever used white vinegar so I can't tell you how apple cider vinegar is. |
the body shop. the scent is jasmine and something. AMAZING |
Apple Cider might attract fruit flies... |
I simmer orange peels and cinnamon sticks for about an hour. Totally eliminates any bad odors. Also, if you have carpet, vacuum really well then sprinkle baking soda all over them let it sit overnight or for as long as possible and vacuum again that is a great deodorizer as well. |
Also make a pot of coffee if you need your house to smell fresh fast. |
mop floors with plain distilled vinegar and water - like 1/4 vinegar, 3/4 hot water.
also, I like the Aura Cacia natural room sprays at whole foods, like lavender scent. They also have Nag Champa incense sticks and holders for like $5 that will kill any odor for days. |
Thank you for the vinegar tip |
