waxing upkeep in summer

Anonymous
I started waxing under my arms in the winter (going 2-3 weeks in between) and loved the results... however i haven't been able to keep up with it in the summer...

how frequently can you do this in order for it to be effective and you're not walking around hairy in the summer.

I wax under my arms every two weeks.

Wow, an opportunity to get my waxing questions answered...

Don't you have to have hair that's pretty long to properly wax it or get it waxed? This is what I don't understand. So you wax something (legs, underarms, bikini line) say, right before Memorial Day, then eventually you have hair growing back. Do you have to let it grow to a certain length before waxing it again? And if so, how do you wear a skirt, tank top, bathing suit in the meantime? Thanks for your info!

pp..OP here i guess that is what i meant in my question too. it doesn't come up so much in winter but i would say that after the 1st few days/ maybe a week i would have to wear something that wouldn't expose the pits... however how does one do that in the summer unless you plan for clothes so that for a week you don't wear anything that exposes the hair but what about swimming etc too.

if i went every 2 weeks i would still have a week of not being able to swim or wearing tanks tops of anything.. thoughts.

laser the pits. that's the only solution that comes to mind and yes, I have had this same discussion with myself. I just haven't gotten around to doing it, so I shave in the mean time.

23:03 here, the more often you wax, the finer and thinner the hair becomes (up to a point). Yes, in week 2 there are a few hairs, but they are few and far in between and they are really short. I wouldn't go to a glamorous gala in a sleeveless without waxing first, but for regular everyday activities, a person would need to be 2 inches from my arm pit to notice them. Stand in front of the mirror and raise your arms, if you see the hairs clearly, wax, if you don't then other people don't see them either.

I also have an electrical epilator for mid-waxing emergencies - or when I don't feel like spending money - but I find it more painful than someone else waxing.

My sister did the laser treatments - says it was great and no more waxing - so that would be the next step for me.

OP here.. i am dark skinned and dark haired so i don't think laser is an option.

It possibly is. My friend, who's black and has a fairly dark complexion, did laser hair removal on her face and neck with no bad results. I can check with her for the name of the place she went, if you want.
