Can anyone compare FCPS to Palm Beach County FL PS?

| In in MCPS but grew up in Palm Beach County and know special Ed teachers there now. What is the specific need your child has? The schools are ok, and some much better than others. The education is a lot stronger in the DC area though. |

Kiddo has HFA, ADHD, Anxiety. He is not comfortable if a group consist of 5 people. He can hit if he reaches level 10 sensory overload. He is 9yo but Stanford score wise 10 grade level in math. Socially he really regressed after moving to north Florida. The plan is to move to Palm Beach or DMV to give my son the best support and chance at life. I hear support in DMV is awesome but seems somewhat challenging as well. He really likes the ocean. I am trying to judge if the DMV area is really that great for special needs or will it be a struggle to get what is needed from school system. |

With the difference in cost of living, if we ever move to south FL, we would just do a private ABA school, that did mostly one on one for academics and social skills in the community (swim team, plays, church, friends). I saw some really awesome aba schools that were with Jewish not-for-profits.
My friend in broward with 4 hfa kiddos told me they offered ZERO aba in the public schools! That is a red flag for me. |
