Why are you suppose to skip a day with TI? Please help - time sensitive question

I was just told to take ovidrel tonight and have TI and then skip a day and have TI on Saturday. This makes no sense to me. Isn't the point to try to have sex as many times as possible to increase your chances? WHy would I skip a valuable day?

I've never done TI under a doctor's supervision, but I think they want you to skip a day to build the sperm count back up. This is esp important if there are male factor issues. Good luck to you!

Yes, and most if not all REs will tell you that there is no need to have sex daily if sperm is normal - it will last for several days, so you shouldn't be concerned about skipping a day.

I did a lot of reading about this and I came to the conclusion that if you don't have any male factor issues, more sex is better! And my RE agrees. The every other day recommendation is for couples with sperm issues and to make things easier for the couple.

OP here. That is exactly what I was wondering. We don't have a male factor issue so I feel like more is better.

My RE said to have sex as much as possible. If you don't have male factor issues then 24 hours is enough to build sperm back up.

My re said that that he didnt distinguish between every day or every other day for increasing our chances. he said that stressing about it is a bigger factor. we didnt skip days most days and were pg within one cycle on injectables with TI. Of course we ended up with twins, so maybe it would have been more prudent to skip a day. Good luck!
