| Anyone who has had a child in ESY - do they give breakfast and lunch? My son is starting PEP-C ESY on Tuesday and has special feeding issues so I am not sure how much of his food to send. Feeling so in the dark not knowing his teacher and our bus info got screwed up so I found out yesterday that I will have to drive him both ways for at least a week. Hoping this will be a good experience for him! |

Send food. like for a snack. is it half day ?
MS DS goes to ESY in FCPS and they only snack time. and I am not sure what CAT your DS is in but mine is in CAT A so they work on skills, but they don't do a lot of work. Teachers in ESY are very very very very laid back. In other words they don't learn anything. |
| since his in pre school I guess he will have a couple accidents so being a change of underwear and clothes , my son is in 5th grade.. but when he was younge like in 1st grade and kindergraden they would of called me that he needed to change because he had a couple accidents |
| OP here. Thanks for the feedback so far. The class is 9-12. I know during the year, even the 9-11:30 class does both breakfast (snack) and lunch, so I wasn't sure about the summer program. |
| That actually may be a teacher decision (to do lunch for a short class) because of long bus rides home and because lunch can be a teaching time for opening containers, making conversation, etc. |

Send food. My son is very picky about what he eats, although there are a lot of options he'll eat from the lunch menu. I send in a bunch of different snack type things that I know he likes and are nutrient dense- yogurt, cheese sticks, protein bars and fruit snacks. He usually eats at least 3 of them.
Where's your son assigned too? Did his teacher ask for a notebook to send him so you 2 can communicate? Write her a note about the feeding issues and ask her to let you know if there's any problems. |
No, all public school kids have the right to school lunch. |
Yes, that is doing the Regular school day.. from 9-4.... But ESY is half a day so they don't eat lunch at school. They only have snack time |
I was responding to a post about 1/2 day kids during the school year. |
