| We have $80k SWA points and would like to take a family vacation for the first time over Christmas break. Kids are 8 and 10. Someplace warm, either with a kitchenette or all inclusive, and with a kids club for elementary school aged kids. Suggestions? We looked at Club Med but do not have that kind of money |
| Savannah? |
| Fly to Orlando, drive to Port Canaveral and go on a cruise |
| San Antonio for sure. |
| I think SW goes to Cancun? Lots of AI's there. Check trip advisor. |

Cancun? Icky poo. |
We went there for winter break last year. We had a good time because we were visiting friends but it was actually pretty cold and not very interesting. |
| San Diego!! |
| I know you want warm, but I would consider skiing in CO. It is beautiful there, and you can pay for a full day ski lessons for your kids while you and DH do what you like. My kids at that same age loved, loved it. We saw little frozen creeks, with bit of water running, pretended we saw dwarfs and tiny tree elves, it was magic for kids. Water can be cold and weather spotty in warm areas during December. Keystone and Breckenridge offer ski passes for both resorts, not badly priced, and you can get a small apartment with a kitchenette, right at the base by ski lifts. Ski rentals are also very cheap, if you look around, I know a great place for it. Happy to share if other people are interested. |
Cancun is lovely-lots of nice all inclusives on the Riviera Maya. Don't listen to the 3 yo PP. |
I love skiing but if you aren't going to keep it up (and it isn't a cheap sport) then I honestly think you are better off just going someplace warm. Especially because Xmas time is still early in ski season and conditions may not be great. I will say that I always try to fly southwest on ski trips so that I can adjust the destination depending on where conditions are good. |
