Kids friendly hike and nearby winery ?

Since it's going to be nice this weekend... Thinking it would be nice to do an easy kids friendly hike (waterfall hike will be awesome! ) and enjoy an nearby winery when we're done.
Will appreciate your recommendations? Young kids...
Thx

Don't take your kids to a winery.

I'm so confused by the need to be near a winery. Find yourself a waterfall (sorry, I don't have recommendations) and have wine after the kids go to bed.

You could take a walk on the WO&D trail to Caboose Brewing for a beer. They have wine too.

Dint let the haters get to you! Here is your plan: Hike in Bull Run national park, followed by picnic and wine tasting here:

There are trails of different difficulty depending on interest, and then the winery is a great place for grownups to relax and chat (and sip a tasting flight) while the kids eat a picnic lunch and frolic in an open field.

You could do Great Falls and then head out to one of the dozens of wineries right next door in Loudoun county. I bet Great Falls national park will be a disaster though this weekend. It's super popular.

I would go to Barrel Oaks. It's already like a daycare, so what's one more kid.

Maybe someone can suggest a nature walk around there.

The winery at bull run is even closer than the winery at la grange, and I like their wines better (I love their Delaney wine.) They have a specific section for families with kids.

What is the issue with kids at wineries? Most of the ones in Virginia look like family picnics.

+1 to the Bull Run suggestions. Nice hike, and several winery choices. Barrel Oaks is extremely family friendly but not as close to hiking.

Not the OP -- This is a great thread. I appreciate the added brewery suggestions at well.

Sugar loaf. The wine isn't great, but it's fun for a quick trip

Another vote for Sugarloaf. Wine is decent and hike is great!
