| I've had three miscarriages after a healthy baby, and a friend mentioned today that I might want to go see an RI (not RE, whom I already see). There aren't any in DC, so this would require travel out of the area. My miscarriages are unexplained and have shows normal tissue, but the RPL panel and other testing my RE completed did not show any known cause. At this point, I am scared to get pregnant again, and I think I would try again if I could figure out what is causing the MCs. I'm wondering whether an RI would help. Has anyone seen one? Has it been helpful? Thanks for any info you can provide. |

Isn't Dr. Rafat Abbasi in the DC area? Search her name (and Braverman, though he's in NY I think?) in the forum and you should find a lot of info.
I'm sorry for you losses. I had three miscarriages as well and it can be very frightening and frustrating. Hope you find some answers. |
I though she was an RE? I go to that practice (but see a different dr). If she is an RI, I wonder whether the practice would let me consult with her now that I am established with another doctor. Thanks. |
NP. Abbasi is an RE but she will work closely with the Beer Center in CA to tailor an immunology protocol for you (and order all meds, etc). I guess she's like a middleman, whereas almost every other RE in this area won't even give you the time of day when you bring up immune issues. She sounds like a great option for you, considering you're already at CFA. I've had 3 losses as well, and can't really handle anymore so I'm off to NY for Braverman. I definitely would have gone with Abbasi but she makes you cycle with her at CFA if she treats your immune issues. |
