Hi everyone,
I am looking for a doctor (or other healthcare provider) who has experience in helping pediatric patients get into the GAPS diet. I see from reading about this diet that there are some officially trained people in the DMV area, but I cannot seem to find their names. Any help/advice? Thanks in advance. |
| You can search the forum. (FYI: GAPS is a shakedown for your money and not evidence based.) |
| Hmmm...no luck finding the name of such a provider on the forum. I do see there are mixed opinions on the merit of the GAPS diet. There must be some pediatricians in the area who are well versed in this diet. I'm in a desperate situation, so still hoping to hear back from anyone who knows of a provider trained in GAPS. |
If you put "GAPS" into the search function you get this thread which names two: http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/494240.page |
| Monica Corrado is not a doctor but is terrific. Her website is simplybeingwell.com |
| I suspect that one of the decent local nutritionists like Dana Laake can offer guidance. GAPS has been wonderful for my kid. I just read the book, "Breaking the Vicious Cycle" and adapted the diet to work for us. When my child starts struggling I try to follow the diet a bit more strictly and it really helps us to turn things around. |
We have done the same. I did the research and reading myself. We did not work with a doctor. |
| Scam |
| why do you say scam if some people report they have been helped by it? |
| Np here. The gaps diet has also helped heal my child's gut. Not a scam at all. |
