Getting algae off slate patio

Anonymous
With all the rain we've had, our slate patio is greenish with plant life. How do we get rid of it? I'd love to avoid getting on hands and knees and scrubbing it with bleach or whatever, but I'm looking for all ideas from anyone with knowledge or experience (neither of which applies to me!). Thanks!

Pay someone or rent a power washer from Home Depot.

Yeah, or buy a $100 electric power washer. You don't need a gas power washer for algae. Note that it still takes a while to clean because you need to spray every inch of the patio. But it's better than scrubbing.

Bristle brush on a broomstick might also be roughly as difficult and cheaper, if you'd never use the power washer for anything else.

Just go buy the spray you connect to your hoose from homedepot. Kills moss and algae and costs about $8.

Use vinegar. Three parts water, one part vinegar. If that doesn't work use half water, half vinager. Safe for the soil around patio as it is non toxic. Spray it on and wait.
