Does Target have school supplies yet?

Super early but we are going out of town for several weeks and would like to get organized before we leave.

Sorry to be a negative nelly, but can we at least get past the Fourth of July before we start Back to School sales? Some schools haven't even finished out the year yet!

No, but you can order from Amazon if you have the list.

I saw a back to school section in the Adams Morgan Target, but it seemed mostly geared to teachers - with bulletin board borders, stickers that said "good job" etc

They put them out the week after the 4th of july. Sales usually start the last week in July. It's actually a great time to buy supplies (in the middle of July) b/c the aisles are empty! No fighting to get the right notebooks or pens. It's all fresh and ready to go.

Even better --- take stock NOW of the items your kid brought home and can re-use. Keep the list in your purse (list with items already checked off for the things you have). When you find yourself in Target or Walmart in July -- have at it. No stress.

(except for the three extra things they don't tell you about until the first week of school -- which by then the items can't be found b/c it is so late!!)

Never understand this attitude....what's it to you if others do their shopping early. Mind you, I tend to be there the night before picking over the leftovers, but what do I care about others who are more on top of things.

Staples has them year round.

I doubt a single teacher has a list of supplies out. The school year just ended for crying out loud. Let the teachers have their break too.

I think the OP is very unorganized. You can get supplies in August like everyone else, or hop on Amazon and go that route.

Yes. Taking care of things early is a hallmark of disorganization. Let's shame OP.

In our county elementary supply lists were published a couple of months ago. In fact at many schools the deadline has already passed for ordering them through the bulk supplier.
