I am thinking of putting my 22 month old in full time day care in North Potomac, Gaithersburg (20878). She is currently with a nanny who is relocating and I never looked into day care when she was an infant. Can anyone recommend a good/warm/caring center? I would really appreciate a recommendation or options to consider. |
Try North Potomac Children's Center |
I sent my child to North Potomac Children's Center a few years ago, when he was 18 months & our experience wasn't good. The director was hardly around. For a young child, the center didn't maintain the 1:3 care giver to child ratio. My son had diaper rash quite a few times. And the center wasn't organized; they misplaced medical forms giving permission to administer medications, i.e. tylenol, benadryl. The director refused to accept responsibility to administer epi-pen junior, even with a doctor's authorization. When talking with other parents, I realized that they had similar issues too. A two year old was not supervised properly & fell down the stairs & a care giver complained about the center & said that some care givers were not feeding the children.
You should ask the director for references. She doesn't provide any. |

For the previous poster: When N. Potomac CC didn't work out--where did you send your child? |
Try Academy Child Development Center on Darnestown Road. The number is 301-424-9475. My son has been there since he was 18 months old and we love the center. They also have locations at Dufief Elementary and Stonemill Elementary. Also try Goddard on Quince Orchard. |
