Has any 2nd Grader's family not received the InView testing results letter?

Anonymous
I noticed a recent thread regarding InView Testing and gifted and talented designations for 2nd graders. Has anyone not received the letter? Do schools send them out at different times? Should I contact school to see about our 2nd grader's results, or are some schools still going to mail them home? Thanks!

Our school said they will mail them soon, and we should have them by next week. It seems strange some schools keep the results until after the school year is over. If you have questions - the teacher is gone!

That's not professional at all.
I would complain to the principal, and let him or her know that if other MCPS schools can get the Inview results out before the end of the school year AND have time for a Q&A session with parents, they should do that too.
Goodness.

I honestly think that is the why they send them so late. Fewer questions.

Doesn't seem unprofessional to me. Teachers having nothing to do with this test. I know phones were ringing off hook day after our scores came out though.

It's unprofessional on the part of school administrators to inadequately inform parents, pre and post test.
And let's not even get into the fact that the Inview serves very little purpose since entrance to the Highly Gifted Centers is dependent on another exam the year after.
What little differentiation is given within the classroom after the Inview is very school and teacher-dependent.

Which is why I didn't call my child's teacher. I did call the school and asked a few questions about the test though.

I didn't think to call the school at all. What kind of questions were you all asking about the test results?

Our school gave ample notice about the tests The school also has nothing to do with the tests. The "Gifted" designation maybe but not the test. I bet many of the calls were because kids didn't do as well as parents thought.

Side note - I found the inview results to be an interesting data point even though I know they will not be used for much.

Of course people have questions! It seems like a significant test (even though it is not given how it is used) and very little explanation is provided to understand the results.

Irritates me that they give it and then basically ignore the results.

Everyone's child is a special snowflake.

I felt that way when I took the SATs back in 1995. Here's your score, no other info. But my mom didn't call the school demanding why I didn't get a higher score.

If you must know its because my kid is on a 504 plan and I thought her test scores might indicate a learning disability.

And I also wanted to know if the test scores were age normed or grade normed but the administrators at my school didn't know. Impressive.
