Infertility Support and Discussion
| I know...a slightly offbeat question...I'm currently going through IVF and taking estrogen and progesterone. The biggest hormone side effect I'm suffering from right now is acne! I've always had some skin issues but now it's so bad that it is starting to actually hurt and I'm almost embarrassed to be in public. (I don't mean to come off shallow, but I seriously feel like a self conscious 16-year-old again!) Is there anything out there (prescription or OTC) I can take that won't be harmful (prego or TTC) but will help clear up my skin or at least alleviate it a little? Thank you all so much for your help. |
| There is a product I like called Glytone that might be helpful. my dermatologist said it was okay to use glycolic products when TTC or pregnant. i too suffer from adult acne, and just did a gonal-f/IUI cycle and my acne was really bad. just started using this product again after a year break and I am already seeing some results. it is only sold at dr's offices though. good luck! |

Have you tried a gentle exfoliant (scrub) and a clay mask? I like the Lancome ones. Also be careful about using a gentle cleanser and toner. Stripping your skin of all oils and messing with your skins PH can make acne worse and not better. Many of the acne care products at the drugstore are just too harsh.
the good news is when you have your baby your skin will look great and you'll have really nice nails and hair and be free of alergies for a while too. Good luck |
Thank you so much for both of your replies. They have been very helpful and encouraging.
