| Thats worth spending a wknd at? |
| From what I've been reading if you went really nice beach you gotta go a bit down south others you can check out the Delaware, Maryland and Virginia beaches. I was thinking about Myrtle beach. Yes, it's far but I'm picky and my past beach experiences have been at Destin, Maui and Long Beach. I want beaches that are close to that in quality. I'm not sure if there's really anything good from VA all the up the East coast. |

What do you want?
We have little kids. Bethany is worth it. |
| Op here- I want a clean beach with some basic ammenities close by (restaurants etc). I am from California so my beach standards are high- not expecting much from beaches around here! Just looking for fun atmosphere within a 2 hr drive from dc. Sorry i was not more specific! |
I was going to help before you revealed yourself to be a beach snob. Figure it out your own damn self. |
Ouch. Rehoboth beach is nice but it's over a 2 hr drive. |
| Every beach is going to be more than a 2-hour drive. Rehoboth is the closest. |
| You definitely sound Californian. |
| Fellow Californian here. I'd try to find a lake or riverfront town/park. Beaches here suck! |
Which ones? Open to any body of water
|
Haha so you agree the beaches here are bad? |
But we have jobs in DC.
|
| There are crappy beaches within two hours. Beautiful beaches within 4-6. You are closest to the Chesapeake bay here, not the ocean, so the beaches that are truly close aren't that nice. |
| Fellow beach snob here. Myrtle beach, NJ beaches, NE beaches are all a great bet. Ocean City is too commercial and OBX is kind of dumpy (though people here are nuts about it). |
Another fellow Californian here. This sums it up. |
