Happy Dads day to the single dads out there.

As a single mom, its so nice to know that others get it!

Thanks

first Father's Day post separation and it's a bit surreal. For everyone.

I just called to wish my step-Dad a happy father's day. I don't think I'm going to bother with my father this year. He left the family when I was 3. 40 years later and (since I had kids of my own) my bitterness still rises and falls. It's up higher this year.

I usually give my husband Scottish whisky for Father's Day. This year I chose Oban whisky - it has the hint of sea salt and peaty smokiness. Oban is one of my favourite places in Scotland.

Nope. Single mothers get Mother's Day, not Father's Day.

They get Fathers Day too.

No, they don't. They're not fathers.

Piss off.

They serve the role of father and mother.

No, I have not, but I would like to try it. I am enchanted by the islands north of Oban, including the Ilse of Mull. I would love to visit the Orkneys one day, too.
