| Does anyone have a recommendation for my 23 year old daughter? She seems rather depressed and I'm at a loss of what to do. She is also diagnosed with ADHD and nvld. Id like someone who could get her in quickly. |
| Fairfax child and family counseling group, dr. Garland. |

Do you think she might need medication? That would be the prime reason to visit a psychiatrist.
If you think she's more in need of someone to talk to, you might want to seek out a counselor. There's no harm in doing both. Most psychiatrists don't accept insurance, so you'll need to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed later if she has health insurance or is still covered by yours. If she doesn't have insurance and needs to talk with someone, The Women's Center has counseling, different locations, and will accept payment on a sliding scale: http://thewomenscenter.org/counseling/ |

| Hi OP, can you tell us what the goal is first? maybe we can be of more help this way. |
|
Op here. Sorry I wasn't more clear in the original post. My daughter is really struggling with depression and anxiety. She is constantly in a bad mood, unable to leave home for family activities and cries as soon as she is home from
Work. I believe that she needs to be on medication as she cannot do basic things. I also want to get her into some therapy. |
| Are you sure it's psychological? Has she seen her GP and had blood work done to eliminate physical issues (such as hypothyroidism)? |
| Yes. She has had full blood work. Everything came back normal except vitamin d was a little low. She is taking a supplement now for vitamin d |
