Just curious...how many mass shootings by NRA members?

Anonymous
I'm curious, and haven't been able to find any statistics. Who knows how many of the mass shootings in this country have been committed by NRA members? There are some 6 million NRA members in this country, enough to have statistically significant data. I personally can't recall a single shooting where the criminal has been a member- but with that many members, there has to be at least some, right?

BTW- there are nearly twice as many NRA members in the US as there are Muslims. If NRA members committed mass shootings at the same rate as Muslims, I think you'd hear about it.

OP, are you trying to get eaten alive?

I'm not sure most mass shooters are interested in joining. Most do it because it came free with their Deer Hunting magazine subscription & they want the decal to put on the back of their pick-up truck.

I like the way you think. Can you work on this and produce a report please? This would be great...I am sure all major publication will publish it.

Adam Lanza was an NRA member? Source?

NRA is a private org so how are we supposed to know who is a member? It's not like they're going to advertise that. More likely the opposite.

Isn't the more relevant question how many mass shootings have been enabled by the NRA's lobbying against any sensible measures to limit assault weapons? Membership is less relevant than the policies they promote and the statutes they have lobbied for or against.

This one is very easy; see the Washington post article which provides statistics or weapons used in mass shooting.

this is the NRA trying to have it both ways. When they claim their large membership numbers they are talking about everyone who subscribed to their magazines or took their courses. Then this happens and they suddenly only count a small subset.
