Not to miss in St. Louis with a 9,7,6 yo?

Anonymous
Taking a quick family trip for the weekend and wanted to show the kids the sights. Other than the arch and the City Museum, are there things that the kids would like to see? Also are there any iconic places to eat that we shouldn't miss? We'll be staying out in Webster Groves but will be going into the city.

#1 St. Louis zoo
#2 The Magic House
#3 The Science Center
#4 Grant's Farm
#5 The Botanical Garden

Also good: The Museum of Transport, Six Flags, the county waterpark in Fenton, AB Brewery tour, Wabash and Pacific Railroad, Tyson's Wolf Sanctuary (they used to host wolf howls at night), Lone Elk Park

If I think of more ai will post.

PS most St. Louis childrens activities are free or very cheap.

Agree with all of these. Childhood rushing back to me right now!

Also go to a Cardinal game if they're in town during your visit... That's what the city is all about April - October.

Grew up there, but never went to the City Museum which I head is a "must do" with kids. Apparently, it's awesome and I'm surprised I never went there.

Also Ted Drews for frozen custard.

Can someone recommend some good places to eat with kids? Both in the touristy areas as well in Kirkwood/Webster Groves.

Can I be honest with you? The arch is...not good. We took our three kids, ages 9, 8, and 6. It is VERY claustrophobic, so if anyone has claustrophobic tendencies, skip going inside. We all just sat in that tiny little car and made jokes to pretend it wasn't freaking horrible, and after it was over, we all talked about how freaked out we all were.

We had a different experience. DD, then 4, enjoyed it immensely, and still remembers it years later.

Kirkwood has a whole stretch of cute locally owned restaurants in their downtown historic area.

Be sure to stop by a snow cone stand. They are in every shopping center in St. Louis in the summer. Hawaian style shaved ice.
