Finger bent backwards while playing volleyball sensation on the toe of a 6 year old?

Anonymous
What could have caused this?
She was not playing any sports or kicking a soccer ball.

I told her to stand up and walk it off before going to bed.
She is able to stand and walk on her own.

Should I take her for an x-ray in the morning to make sure nothing is dislocated?

Sounds like it could be a minor sprain or some kind of repetitive movement injury, which definitely could have happened without something obvious being the cause. I wouldn't take her in for an X-ray. Just treat her with RICE (rest, ice, compression, and elevation) for now.

Huh? What is volleyball sensation and why is it played on the toe of a 6 year old?

I believe OP means that her child has "the sensation of when your finger is bent backwards while playing volleyball" but in her toe. So, basically, her kid's toe is jammed.

Stop hating on the terminology of a 6 year old.
