Bear Trap or Bayside in DE

If you've stayed at either one, how was your experience? What are the main pluses and minuses? Thanks.

big issue: where will you go on the beach? Only guests at Sea Colony (east or bayside) can use their private beach. And parking near the beach (metered) is hard to find.

Their Web sites say they have beach shuttles, although I'm not sure to which beach--not really familiar with the area (obviously).

The beach shuttles will likely take you into town -- the little main street/boardwalk area. So, you would be going on the beach with the rest of the world there. Bear Trap and Bayside do not have private beaches like Sea Colony.

The public beach in Bethany is not evil or anything. I don't find it outrageously crowded, nothing like OC. And I like the bathhouses they have, as well. We bike to the beach, so I've never had to find parking. But the shuttle sounds great.
