My 3rd grader just read the entire Bone series in the last week, and he's interested in finding more books like the series. He likes the books because they are funny.
Any suggestions? |

From the graphic novel/comic stand point, he might Calvin and Hobbes.
As a kid, I enjoyed the Half Magic series: https://www.amazon.com/Tales-Magic-Boxed-Edward-Eager/dp/0152025464/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1465612122&sr=1-2&keywords=half+magic It's about kids who find a magic coin, but it only gives you "half" of what you wish for. They have to figure it out and go on all kinds of adventures. |
| The Wayside School books, if he's willing to branch out from comic books. |
| Has he read Diary of a Wimpy Kid series and the Captain Underpants series? |
What are the bone books? I have a rising 4th grader and would love to know. |

If it's Graphic Novels he wants, Astronaut Academy by Dave Roman is great. Giants Beware and Dragons Beware by Jorge Aguirre is also wonderful. He's also a big fan of Calvin and Hobbes.
For hybrid - novels with lots of pictures: My child really enjoys the Middle School series by James Patterson |
Bone by Jeff Smith http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/4bone-jeff-smith/1107838311?ean=9781888963144 |
| The Nate books. Also Pippi Longstocking. Second the Wayside School book nomination. Also Humphrey the hamster series and Bevery Cleary. |
| The Creature in my Closet series by Obert Skye |
| Big Nate |
Thanks! |
