Where to buy modest shorts?

Anonymous
My DD will soon be 13. She usually likes to wear jeans and a t shirt. She's not "girly". Any suggestions for where to buy comfortable shorts that are mid thigh or knee length? We are in fairfax. Thanks!

J Crew has a bunch of 5'' shorts. Just search their website for 5'' and the results show up. J Crew Factory has a bunch as well.

I just got these at Anthropologie:

4'' inseam/3 colors - http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/clothes-shorts-casual/38679403.jsp#/

4'' or shorter if you roll them -

Check out athletic and outdoorsy stores: Dick's, REI, etc. One place to look online would be http://girlswillbehq.com/shop/ if your daughter is still in girls' sizes.

Old Navy has 7" shorts, which I really like - not short, but also not full knee length.

Lands End. Also, if she can wear a small women size, REI.

Try American Eagle - they do have some longer shorts styles. Both my DDs found that AE clothes fit them better when they were young teens than other teen clothing stores.

Why not just cut off some jeans and roll them? That was the style when I was that age and I still see kids wearing them now. You will get the perfect fit and the length you want.
