If Trump wins the general, who will liberals blame?

Anonymous
Will they blame the "dumb" Americans who insisted on voting for him even though some of the same people voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012?

or

Will they blame Bernie and his supporters for not doing all they could to back HRC?

or

Will they attribute it to the sexist, misogynist American men who could not abide the thought of a woman as president

or

Will they acknowledge that they should have nominated someone who did not come with the baggage that HRC does?

Didn't we already have this thread?

I would blame stupid voters. This includes 1) people who don't know squat about how their govt or the economy works, 2) bigots, and 3) conspiracy theorists, media skeptics, and paranoiacs who don't recognize facts as actual facts.

Depends on what the exit polls say about who votes for him and why.

Hey, maybe he'll convince us all that he'll make a great president, and there'll be no need to "blame" anyone. He's got nowhere to go but up, right?

But if things don't change from now, I'll start by blaming Republicans like Paul Ryan, Chuck Grassley, and John McCain who acknowledge Trump is a racist pig, but support him anyway. Lindsey Graham looks like a truth-teller now.

But some of these same people voted for Obama so does it mean they did not know what they were doing then?

Oh FFS, the general is a long ways off and it's a waste of time to debate who to blame for anything until it happens. What, OP, don't you have work to do today?

I doubt there's much overlap, but to the extent there is, even stupid people occasionally make the right choice.

I'll blame the people who put their hatred for Hillary over their love of this country.

Trump is a loose cannon with zero political experience. Not to mention a blatant racist and sexist. For anyone sane enough to see this and still choose to vote for him because "Hillary is worse" is, well, insane.

You - we will all blame you personally.

Yep, this. I'll blame idiot Americans who don't understand how societal progression works. I'll blame the people who reside on the wrong side of history. I'll blame our dark, homophobic, racist, misogynistic underbelly that has started to come to light in this election. It's vile.

Yes, we did. And the same scenarios were posted as blame touch points.

Time to move on, OP.

+1 to all of this.

BTDT, OP. Have you considered looking for more meaningful work? Or cultivating some hobbies?

Americans have many different outlook and expectations. Some wonderful people may have well-motivated reasons for voting in ways that seem insane to me. If I am a patriotic American, my loyalty should be to the American people, including those I disagree with, including those misguided enough (in my own personal view) to start divisive threads like this one.

And I hope others will feel that way even about people who write preachy notes like this.
