| I would appreciate any and all recommendations. Has anyone recommend Kate Morton? Recommend? |
|
I found these to be absorbing reads:
Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt The Neapolitan Quartet novels by Elena Ferrante H is for Hawk (memoir) |
| For one under the fun, summer beach read category - Eligible by Curtis Sittenfeld. Just finished it the other night and couldn't put it down. Fun, easy read. |
| Iv'e read Forgotten Garden (Kate Morton) and loved it. A Little Life is incredible but not light. |
| Century Trilogy or Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet. |
|
Liane Moriarty books are awesome: Big Little Lies, Whag Alice Forgot
Have you read Gone with the Wind? I read that for the first time a couple summers ago and absolutely loved it. I couldn't put it down. Huge book and I carried it with me everywhere. |
| A Little Life |
Opposite of light. |
NP here. I don't think OP said light? I just finished A Little Life and it was amazing. But yeah, you're going to be crying on the beach, so depends on if that sounds good to you or not. (I took forever to finish it because I normally read at lunch but couldn't read that because I was crying in the staff lounge all the time.) |

Another Liane Moriarty fan here.
I've also really liked most of the Jennifer McMahon books I've read, especially The Night Sisters. |
| Seveneves - could not put that one down. Great characters, great story. |
| Sorry - Seveneves is by Neal Stephenson |
| Also A Man Called Ove - Frederick Backman |
Not OP, but I'm glad you liked it - I think I'm going to try Eligible this summer! |
Oh my gosh, are you me? ? I love Liane Moriarty. And I think Gone with the Wind is so good it's annoying. |
