Solo Getaway

I've just finished a very challenging parenting year, very successfully. I want to go away alone for a few nights. Ideally, I want to sit on a beach or by a beautiful pool, with drink in hand, and ready some beach novels. I'd like a civilized meal, maybe a movie.

I'd prefer not to travel more than 2 hours from DC. I don't want to spend a fortune, but am willing to splurge a bit.

Any suggestions?

When DD was younger, I, as a single mom, took an annual solo getaway. I drove to the Omni Bedford Springs, the Homestead, and the Chesapeake Hyatt, and flew to the Sanctuary at Kiawah. I have returned to all of them more recently with DD!
