Finding an extended stay with a German Shepherd?

Anonymous
We are in search of a pet friendly furnished apartment or extended stay in Nova (commutable to Herndon) starting around June 10 and through July and possibly August. There are many extended stays out there, but we have yet to find one that will accept our German Shepherd (90 lbs). Any pointers in any direction?

Maybe look for a short-term rental on militarybyowner.com?

Maybe craigslist? Or, any local college sites? Sometimes professors rent out their places over the summer.

We have a 85lb GSD--when we were renting, it was tough to find places that would take him. Good luck!

An update: we found one, Van Metre Apartments Fairfax (And some sister complexes in other areas like Springfield Etc.) takes all breeds except Pitts (sadly!!). We were able to get a short term lease for 3 months (or more), and it's been wonderful while we house hint!

For pet owners with "aggressive" breeds, we found this complex using peoplewithpets.com, you can search by state, it seems Pitbulls are still unfortunately on most lists.

Insurance company statistics for claims generate those lists.

Lots of breeds bite more than German Shepherds. (Dachsunds, I am looking at you.) It's just that Shepherds are big enough to make a claim worthwhile.
