Is this typical 3rd trimester or something else?

On my way out the door this morning, I experienced a painful sharp stabbing pain on the lower left-hand side of my abdomen. It lasted for about 10 minutes while DH drove me to the Metro, went away, and came back a little when I started to walk from Metro to my office. Things felt fine through most of the morning but then I felt a less severe stabbing pain about an hour ago. Now, I mostly feel bloated and my baby belly is rather tight.

Is this typical B/H or round ligament pain or something else?

I should add I'm 32 weeks and the baby has been kicking away this a.m.

I experienced sharp stabbing pain all the time in my lower abdomen, especially when walking.

I've had this on and off since about 26 weeks--sharp pain all of a sudden while walking every once in a while (maybe 2-3 times a week). No rhyme or reason, and it strikes both sides equally. My midwife is not concerned, says it's normal, and is likely ligaments stretching.

Yep - almost 39 weeks and I have been getting it since mid second trimester. It just happens all the time (usually on the lower side abdomen), especially when I am changing suddenly from a seated to standing position. Told my doctor about it at first and he said it was just normal. If it's sporadic and goes away, probably normal. Also, if it's not accompanied by bleeding, excess discharge, etc.

Another vote for "normal." I was getting this earlier on, maybe around 20-25 weeks (am 33 weeks now) and it drove me nuts. Very painful, too, not just a twinge. Doc said probably ligaments stretching and if it goes away, don't overinvestigate. I did mention it to my doctor, though, just to be safe.

I'm 32 weeks and I've been getting this on my lower right-side. Really painful.. Doc even checked my cervix last time I was in to make sure it's not preterm labor - it was not, so he said it was round ligament pain, bothersome but not dangerous.

Round ligament pain. I've had it for weeeeeeeks (am at wk 36), esp. when rolling over in bed at night.

I remember last time, walking to the bus one day, and getting a little shooting pain on either side of my belly with each step. "Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow." Delightful.

haha, I get this all the time too (I'm 36 weeks now). According to my husband, when I actually go into labor I'll be the boy who cried wolf! Had it with my first one, too.
