Thoughts on these names? First impressions?

I like Anthony best. August reminds me of an obese kid, Clark may be ok but the only Clark I know is an elderly man so that's what it reminds me of. Luke is just ok.

Clark - the kid with a perpetual runny nose who always whines he's being bullied when he's picked second only to August
Anthony - team captain - doesn't bully but laughs at mean jokes, grows up to be a fine person
Luke - the kid Anthony picks first, who tells Clark he's not being bullied and yells encouragement at August. Then goes home and tells his mom "It's such a shame August's mom gave him such a bad name - I think he'd get picked on less if he had a better name."

August is best because it has good nicknames: Auggie or Gus. But how well they work depends on the individual kid's personality. Clark = nerd. Luke = wimp. Anthony = Italian.

I prefer Augustus to August.

Second favorite is Lucas, nn Luke.

All the Augusts I knew growing up were girls, so I attach a feminine designation to it.

I don't mind Clark or Luke, but I like Anthony best.

I disagree with this pp. I think they were mean! Personally, while they are not names I would choose they *all* are acceptable and fine names. I would go with the one that sounds best with your last name. PS no Mom would say "he would get picked on less if only he didn't have a "bad" name. If they did they aren't nice people!

I like Clark! I know two little ones, both named for grandfathers. It's adorable. Plus: superman .

Luke is the safe bet, but it seems like Lucas/Luke are everywhere so that's why it's not my pick.

Anthony is fine, but I don't love Tony.

I had no idea August was a fat kid's name, but I do like Gus and think it's cute.
