She is an unbearably awful actress and is cringe worthy on screen. Now she is cast as the lead for the live action version of Beauty and the Beast.
Why? WHY? |
| Does she sing? |
|
Maybe others feel differently about her than you do.
Imagine that!! |
| I think she's a good actress. |
No. She is objectively an awful actress. Just go watch a movie with her in it. |
wow, get a life. Maybe it will make you have some real worries -- the country is going down the drain and you worry about who gets what role? No wonder Trump is so popular! |
| Well then a live performance will really put the pressure on and we can see if she is good or not. |
That's not what she means by live. |
| I feel the same way about Natalie Portman. Sometimes I think she's good then I see her in an awful role and I want to scream why why why??? I think we should hold off judgment until after we see the movie. B&B is going to be a hard sell as a live action anyway but that doesn't mean it will be Emma Watson's fault if it fails. I actually think someone understated will work better against the overblown beast but hey that's just me. |
| She was hilarious in that movie about the teens in Hollywood who went around robbing the houses of famous people (including Paris Hilton) and only got caught when they accidentally took $2mil in jewelry from Hilton's house. |
I've seen a movie with her in it. You are actually being nice. She's worse than awful. |
+1 (though the this is in the Entertainment and Pop Culture forum!) |
| She's a great actress with a loyal following. |

Both Natalie Portman and Emma Watson have sky-high IQs and are very competent. There are several kinds of acting, and they are obviously a better fit in certain roles, which you might not appreciate as much, OP. But to dismiss them off-hand is incredibly stupid of you. When was the last time you starred in a major blockbuster and made that kind of money, while keeping your figure and getting fancy degrees at top-notch universities? Ha. Thought not. |
| British actors are actors rather than celebrities and treat their jobs as actors differently than American actors who are looking for celebrity and money. Natalie Portman and Emma Watson are good actors. You may not appreciate them, and that is fine. Others do. |
