deodorant not working?

Is anyone else finding their deodorant isn't quite working since being pregnant?

I had that same thought yesterday!!!

I have to switch brands every so often even when not pregnant because they stopped working. Try a different brand.

So funny, I was just telling my mom about this last night. When I was pregnant last summer, I felt so stinky. I started using Secret Clinical Strength at night before going to bed. It totally worked! I would also put my regular deodorant (dove) after my am shower. I just started doing it again for the summer, even though I am not pregnant, I was so happy with it. Fwiw, I had never had that issue before. Aren't hormones great?

You probably don't smell worse or different to others, but your super-smelling ability is picking up the odor.

I had almost the exact opposite experience. Before getting pregnant, I was having issues with deodorant not working. When I was pregnant, no matter how sweaty I got, I rarely smelled. Now that I've had the baby, I'm back to being stinky when I sweat. I would like to chalk it up to drinking enough water, but, now that I'm BFing, I'm still staying super hydrated and it's not making a difference. I'm also really concerned about upping the strength of my deodorant -- it freaks me out that my milk ducts extend all the way into your arm pits and I can't help but wonder if the chemicals in the deodorant has a way of making their way into my breast milk. I've done some research on natural methods of controlling odor. There are a number of things you can do, including:
1. make sure it's not lingering in your clothes after washing -- I made sure to treat the armpits of all my shirts with either bakiing soda or oxy clean to get all the stink out when washing. This is especially important for any clothes that contain synthetic materials -- especially T Shirts with lycra in them.
2. Vinegar -- if you apply vinegar to your pits after showering, it will help to neutralize the acidity of the area and remove the odor
3. water water water -- keep on drinking it and LOTS of it
4. Here's an interesting link to some options (for natural deodorants) as well: http://openeyehealth.com/2009/03/natural-deodorant-that-works/
