Abnormal, long period = very very early miscarriage?

Anonymous
I'm going to contact my ob if this doesn't stop by Monday but bc it's the holiday weekend and offices are closed, I thought I'd ask here because I'm mildly concerned. I'm tcc-ing and have a pretty regular cycle. I have one child and so have been thru tccing before (for two years) before I conceived, so I feel pretty familiar with my cycles. I am temping, etc. my period this cycle is completely weird. I was a day late, then I had a 6 days of dark brown sometimes black looking blood with light flow then now 4 days of bright red blood with heavy flow. My periods are usually 4 days. I'm wondering if anyone else has had something like this happen. It's the first time for me. Thnx. I really hate tcc-ing.

Could be. Pee on a stick. That's how I figured out once that I miscarriage early. If it's positive check with your ob. Depending on your hcg levels they will want to confirm they drop to zero.

Maybe? I had a chemical pregnancy earlier this year. The resulting period was not significantly different from my norm--maybe a little heavier, but nothing I would have noticed if I hadn't had (faint) positive pregnancy tests and weren't a few days late.

By the time I started bleeding, pregnancy tests were coming up negative.

I've had many early miscarriages but the bleeding was always normal. Sounds more like an infection (the black blood).
