cramping on progesterone in oil

Anonymous
I had an FET last week and started progesterone in oil injections 5 days before. I don't remember feeling any uterine cramping during that pre-FET time. Post-FET, I have been crampy every day. Is this a normal side-effect of PIO after a build-up of several days, or is it a good sign?

Most other things I'm experiencing are tricky, normal side-effects of progesterone (heightened sense of smell, sore breasts), but I've only done Crinone before and don't know what's normal from PIO as it relates to cramps. I'm getting close to being able to take a home pregnancy test, but in the meantime I just was looking to benefit from others' knowledge and experience here.

It's so hard to trust any "symptoms" in the post transfer tww.

From Dr. Google: "Commonly reported side effects of progesterone include: abdominal cramps, depression, dizziness, and headache. Other side effects include: musculoskeletal pain, nausea, anxiety, fatigue, cough, diarrhea, irritability, emotionalability, and bloating."

Some ladies have none of the symptoms/side effects and get a +, some have all and still get a -.

I really, really hope you get your BFP ASAP! Hang in there.

It's either and it's both. You can't symptom spot while on fertility meds. There's no way to tease apart actual pregnancy symptoms from side effects (which can/do get worse over time).

PP again. FWIW, my cramping I had with my bfp didn't start until after a few days after a +hpt, like around 8dp5dt. I had mild cramping after all 3 transfers (the first 2 were negative, but the stronger cramps were after I already knew I was preg.

Thanks. I sort of expected this, but it is helpful anyway!

I've only had one FET/PIO experience, and I was crampy just a few days out from my transfer. It was a BFP. Fingers crossed for you!
